VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN PREVENTIVE
HEALTH LEVEL 4 (OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY)

PURPOSE

If you are interested in occupational health and safety (OHS), you need proper qualifications to meet work requirements. Key responsibilities include enforcing OHS regulations, developing workplace safety protocols, and ensuring a safe environment for employees, employers, and visitors. This requires both training and theoretical knowledge. Studying an OHS course equips you with the skills to create safe workplaces in line with Namibian regulations.

3. WHO SHOULD APPLY FOR THIS PROGRAM

DURATION AND MODE OF STUDY

One (1) year, full time

Anyone who meets the minimum admission requirements stipulated below, male or female and who have a passion for occupational health and safety

MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  •  Valid Grade 10 certificate or a NSSC (National Senior Secondary Certificate) at Ordinary level or Higher level.
  • Minimum twenty-two (22) points based on the National Evaluation Point Scale in six (6) subjects in Grade 10 (old curriculum) or Grade 9, according to the new National
  • Curriculum for Basic Education.
  • Minimum eighteen (18) points based on the National Evaluation Point Scale in six (6) subjects in Grade 12 (old curriculum) or Grade 11, according to the new National Curriculum for Basic Education.
  • English is compulsory, with pass of F or better.
